I want a WhatsApp chatbot, but I am afraid it will invent answers
Your fear is well founded. A chatbot that invents answers, quoting a price that does not exist or promising an appointment nobody can honour, does more damage than having no bot at all. Safe automation is built in layers.
Level 1: simple rules, no AI, no extra cost
Most of what businesses actually need does not require AI at all. A greeting when someone writes for the first time, an out-of-hours reply ("we have your message and will answer in the morning"), and canned replies for the questions that repeat. All of it is deterministic, so it cannot go off script. In WACO this is included in the subscription and set up from a single page.
Level 2: AI that answers only from your own knowledge
For open-ended questions ("are you open on Sundays?", "is this suitable for a five year old?") an AI bot starts to earn its place, provided the rules around it are strict. The WACO AI Operator works to three:
- It answers only from the knowledge cards you taught it. Not from the internet, and not from invention.
- When unsure, it hands over to a human. The conversation moves to your team with a note attached, so the customer is never left hanging.
- It learns only with your approval. Good answers written by your team are proposed as new knowledge, and you decide what gets kept.
