My display name keeps being rejected
The naming rules Meta never writes down clearly, and the formula that passes.
2 min read
The display name is the name customers see on WhatsApp. Meta reviews it, and rejections usually arrive with no explanation. The pattern behind them can be mapped, though.
What is almost always rejected
- Generic names such as "Clinic", "Online Shop", or "Customer Service". Your actual business name has to be in there.
- ALL CAPITALS, unless it is a genuine acronym.
- Promotional additions, for example "Bright Dental ✨ Offer" or "Ani Store, the cheapest".
- A name unconnected to the registered business, meaning something with no relationship at all to your legal entity or your website.
The formula that passes
Your business name as customers already know it, exactly as it appears on your signage or website: "Bright Dental Clinic", "Al-Hidayah Primary School", "Lokanet Internet". Adding a city to distinguish branches is fine.
Changing the name after approval is possible, but there is a limit on how often, and every change is reviewed again. Settle on the right name at the start rather than using a temporary one.
